When choosing your bridal shower games, be sure to follow these tips for the best overall experience for your guests. Many of the guests that you invite will have attended many wedding showers before, so be sure to keep your games fresh and well planned!
Tips
& Tricks:
1. Forgo
Old Games – There
are some bridal shower games that seem to have been around since the beginning
of time. If your game falls in that category, it’s probably better to ditch the
game idea.
2. All
Is Fair In Love
– Most games that are out there on the Internet are geared towards guessing
facts about the bride and while these can be fun for those that know the bride,
you’re likely to only be engaging about half of the audience at the bridal
shower if you focus on just her. Instead, we recommend choosing games that are
will make your guests evenly matched against one another by integrating things
about both the bride AND the groom! (That way your soon-to-be mother-in-law
will feel like she can get some of the questions right too!)
3. Voluntarily
Participation –
Don’t force your guests to participate in the games. Some seasoned partygoers
will have inevitably seen the games you choose, so make it less of homework
assignment and more of a fun option for them to do!
4. Timing
Is Everything –
If you’re playing a game where guests need to fill out a questionnaire or guess
things, give them plenty of time to do it so it doesn’t cut into their
socialization time! We suggest handing out this type of game in the beginning
of the shower and then reading the answers later in the day, once everyone has
finished chatting with everyone they haven’t seen in a while. A great idea is
to stop the bride about halfway through opening the gifts to read the answers.
This will give your guests ample amount of time to complete their task and give
them something to do during the lull of watching the bride open gift after
gift.
